In reply to your letter No. 3306/1914 dated
16th instant I have the honour to inform you that the War Office instructions on the subject of re- mittances for prisoners of war are
All letters from prisoners addressed to persons outside the United Kingdom containing re-
mittances of money will be referred to the War
Office."
A ruling has also been given by the War Office that remittances from funds belonging to prisoners of war are in effect exactly the same
as cash remittances.
As Mr. Paul Stoppa is not a prisoner of war his case does not appear to come within our jurisdiction.
I have, etc.,
(Signed)
L. CASSEL.
Captain.
